One KU Data and Analytics Modernization
Aligning KU's data, analytics, and reporting capabilities across KU
In 2025, the KU Lawrence Analytics, Institutional Research, & Effectiveness (AIRE) team and the former Enterprise Analytics team at the KU Medical Center merged to form a unified One KU Analytics, Institutional Research, & Effectiveness (AIRE) Office. AIRE now serves all KU campuses as the university's central office for data, governance, analytics, institutional research, and effectiveness, delivering high-quality services grounded in integrity, collaboration, and excellence.
To advance the One KU vision, AIRE has identified three strategic priorities for consolidation and modernization:
- One KU Data Warehouse and Cloud Modernization
Develop a single, integrated enterprise data warehouse that brings together prioritized data from key source systems across all KU campuses. This strategy also advances modernization of the university's data architecture through alignment with KU's broader cloud and technology strategy. - Consolidate Enterprise Analytics Platforms
Implement a unified business intelligence and analytics platform that provides consistent reporting, dashboards, and insights across the university. - One KU Data Governance Framework
Establish a unified governance and stewardship model that defines ownership, accountability, data standards, and shared documentation to improve the quality, consistency, and transparency of institutional data across One KU.
Collectively, these initiatives represent a multi-year transformation that will strengthen KU's ability to leverage data as a strategic asset while reducing technology complexity, improve governance and data quality, create a unified institutional data foundation, and support consistent analytics across all KU campuses.
